Ounce for ounce sea vegetables contain more minerals that any other food group. The dulse and kelp in the sea chips are very high in iron and iodine as well as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and the full spectrum of essential trace elements.
Dulse and kelp contain generous amounts of alginates and phycocolloids which, in combination with our stoneground whole organic corn, make sea chips a good source of dietary fiber, about 16% less per one ounce serving.
Seaweed protein is a good compliment to corn protein because it contains the essential amino acids that are scarce in corn. Together they can yield more utilizable complete protein.

Sea chips taste salty but have no salt added. Other leading brands of flavored corn chips average three times more sodium than sea chips. Even many natural chips have twice as much added salt. Our secret is the salty flavor of seaweed, which provides many mineral salts besides sodium. The natural sodium content is less than half the 140 gram per serving FDA limit for low sodium. People prone to hypertension will welcome sea chips high ratio of potassium to sodium.
Sea chips are first baked to seal out oil. This minimizes frying time and reduces oil content. After frying, surface oil is allowed to drain off before the chips are tumbled in flavoring. We use certified organic oils, which are very low in saturated fats, contain no cholesterol and are high in monounsaturates. The frying process is monitored closely to prevent free fatty acid buildup and insure fresher tasting chips.
